About Dr Greathead

A practice built on hands-on skill

Dr Greathead graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa — the founding college of the profession and one renowned for producing exceptional chiropractors. She graduated as valedictorian of her class and a presidential scholar, before returning to South Africa to open her own practice.

Dr Greathead is legally blind, with no vision in her right eye and under 3% vision in her left. She considers her visual impairment an asset: it has sharpened her gift of touch.

Outside the practice, she lives out the same resilience she encourages in her patients. She completed the Cape Town Marathon in 2023 with her husband as her visually impaired guide, earned her permanent blue number at the Two Oceans Half Marathon, and in June 2024 summited Mount Kilimanjaro alongside him. She is married with one son, both central to her life.

What is chiropractic?

Drug-free care for the muscles, joints and nervous system

Chiropractic is a health care profession focused on disorders of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems, and how those disorders affect overall health — most often back pain, neck pain, joint pain and headaches.

Chiropractors practise a drug-free, hands-on approach that includes examination, diagnosis and treatment. The most common technique, spinal manipulation, restores mobility to joints that have become restricted through injury or repetitive strain, easing pain and allowing tissue to heal.

Where chiropractic isn't the right fit, or a condition needs co-management, Dr Greathead will refer you on to the appropriate health care provider.

Diversified manual adjustment

Soft tissue and trigger point release
